Sir Howard, Sony Chief Takes Over Company’s Presidency

, Chief Executive of , will take over as president to take control of the company’s struggling electronics division, the company said last week. Sony, which said in January that it expected to post a US$3B loss for the FY 2008 ending March 31, said Mr. Stringer would succeed Chubachi as President.

Sony will also streamline its sprawling electronics divisions to speed up decision-making, battle cut-throat competition and better weather the global downturn, Mr. Stringer said at the press conference.
